Many of us sometimes forget our wp password and you won’t be able to retrieve your password if you have incorrect email address on file, do not worry if you forgot your wordpress password you can always reset it from phpmyadmin, in this small tutorial i assume your wp is hosted on cPanel control panel, you can even change your email or username in phpmyadmin.

First thing you should do is login to your cPanel and find phpmyadmin and click on it

Then in phpmyadmin select your wordpress database on the left side

once you click on your wordpress database a list of tables will show, find wp_users and click on browse

after you browse wp_users table you will be able to see the username (admin) click on edit to change the password to something else

When you click on the Edit Icon you will be able to change the password and have it encrypted again, Select MD5 from the drop down menu and change the password to whatever you want, Once you’re done phpmyadmin will save your new password and encrypt it with md5 Again
